SF SEED Spring 2019 Application Open!

Dear Early Childhood Educators,

Applications for the Spring 2019 SF SEED educational stipends are now open.  Apply now to receive money for the units you are taking this Spring semester!

Some important highlights include:

Changes to Note:

  • Free City College: Free City participation at CCSF is no longer a factor in determining an applicant’s SF SEED stipend award. Individuals who are receiving free City College at CCSF will be eligible to receive the full SF SEED stipend amount.
  • Community College Stipend Levels: Stipend amounts have changed for community college applicants; check out the flyer for the new community college stipend levels! (flyer’s available in mutliple languages in links below)

In addition, our SF SEED staff is available to come to your site to make announcements, answer questions, and support in the SF SEED application process and/or provide more information on degree attainment options and supports.

Community College Stipends*

SF SEED
3-5 units
SF SEED 6-9 units SF SEED 10-12+ units
$310 $620 $930

4-Year University Stipends*

SF SEED 3-12+ units Title V BA Stipend 12+ units
Up to $1,200 Up to $3,700

*Award levels are determined by the number of degrees applicable courses passed with a C or higher grade, fund availability, financial aid status, and Title V employment.

How to Qualify for the SF SEED Stipend:

  • Work 15 or more hours a week in a licensed family child care (FCC) or center-based program in San Francisco with children ages 0-5
  • Earn under $60,000 a year (individual net income)
  • Currently attending an accredited 2-year or 4-year institution
    • Enrolled in a minimum of 3 credit-bearing units AND
    • Enrolled in courses that follow an approved Education Plan that is designed for degree attainment AND
    • Pass courses with a minimum of a ‘C’ or better
    • Be majoring in child development, psychology, education, or other early childhood related majors

How to Qualify for the Title V BA Stipend:

  • Work full-time (30+ hours a week) at a licensed Title V center in San Francisco with children ages 0-5
  • Earn under $60,000 a year (individual net income)
  • Currently attending an accredited 4-year institution, majoring in Child and Adolescent Development:
    • Enrolled as a full-time, upper division student AND
    • Enrolled in courses that follow an approved Education Plan that is designed for degree attainment AND
    • Pass courses with a minimum of a ‘C’ or better

Please note that in order to receive an SF SEED Stipend for the Spring 2019 semester, all applicants are required to meet with an academic counselor and turn in a copy of their Educational (ED) Plan.
