Membership Meeting Information

CPAC Membership Meetings are open to the public and provide important updates from CPAC’s committees, public agencies, key stakeholders and the early care and education community.  Throughout the year there are interesting presentations on subjects that are pertinent to the early education field.

Meetings: Meets every 2nd Wednesday of the month; 9:00am – 11:00am.

Executive Committee

The Executive Committee is comprised of the CPAC Chair, 1st Vice Chair, 2nd Vice Chair, Secretary, Treasurer and the Chairs from all standing and ad-hoc committees.  The Executive Committee is charged with the oversight and management of all CPAC business including but not limited to: contracts, support and direction to committees, planning membership meetings, coordinating advocacy efforts with local, state and federal government entities, and local key stakeholders.  The Executive Committee also develops the work priorities of the CPAC Coordinator.

Not Currently Meeting--Needs Assessment Committee

The Needs Assessment Committee is charged with developing a comprehensive report demonstrating the need and gaps in services impacting San Francisco’s children and families. Per California Department of Education the Needs Assessment must be produced and reported every 5 years.  Included in the analysis is the overall Landscape, Demographic Data, Capacity, Subsidy Eligible Children (ages 0-12), Unmet Need and Parent Choice.

Using data from the assessment, CPAC communicates to CDE priority areas for state funding.  The Needs Assessment is used for prioritizing both state and local resources for building new facilities, retaining classrooms and providing additional subsidies to areas of unmet need.

Not Current Meeting-- Workforce Committee

The Workforce Committee plays a leadership role on behalf of CPAC by advocating for, designing, and implementing a citywide system that ensures San Francisco’s early care and education workforce has the resources and skills necessary to provide the highest quality care possible to San Francisco’s children and families.

Legislation & Public Policy Committee

The Legislative Subcommittee of CPAC monitors, reviews, analyzes, and makes recommendations to CPAC about any proposed legislation or public policy related to early care and education that may impact families in San Francisco.

CDE Contractor's Committee

CDE Contractor’s Committee

The CDE Contractor’s Committee is comprised of those California Department of Education Child Development Division Title 5 contractors participating in San Francisco’s Individualized Child Care Subsidy Pilot Project and others interested in the work of the committee.  The CDE Contractor’s Committee is charged with problem-solving and planning for the stabilization of CDE subsidized child care for San Francisco.  The Committee works with the Standard Reimbursement Rate (SRR) Pilot administrators to plan, implement, and modify the Pilot project in order to make the most of CDE funding for subsidized early care and education in San Francisco.

Out of School Time Committee

The Out of School Time (OST) Committee was developed to ensure that school age children have access to high quality youth development opportunities that support their overall development.  The committee looks at the overall system and advocates for the necessary funds and policy to ensure all children receive the services and supports necessary to thrive.

Meetings: 4th Thursday of each month from 10:30am -12:00pm at 445 Church Street, San Francisco, CA 94114, Room 431.
